Financial Advice Services We Provide
Taprobane Finance Limited provides personalised financial advice relating to:
- Residential mortgage products (home loans, investment loans, refinancing)
- Development finance
- Asset finance and commercial lending
We work with a panel of approved banks and non-bank lenders. A current list of the lenders we work with is available on request.
Adviser Duties
When providing personalised financial advice, our advisers are required by law to:
- Act in your best interests and prioritise your interests above our own
- Exercise care, diligence, and skill in giving you advice
- Meet standards of competence and knowledge set by the FMA
- Disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect the advice
- Provide advice that is suitable for your circumstances, goals, and risk tolerance
Fees and Conflicts of Interest
Taprobane Finance typically does not charge a direct fee to clients for mortgage advice. Instead, we receive commissions from lenders when we successfully arrange a product on your behalf. Commission rates vary by lender and product type.
In some circumstances, a fee may be payable by the client — this will be disclosed in writing before advice is provided.
Full details of our remuneration and any material conflicts of interest will be disclosed in our Disclosure Statement, which will be provided to you before or when personalised advice is given.
Limits on Our Advice
We provide advice on lending and mortgage products only. We do not provide advice on:
- Managed investment schemes or KiwiSaver providers
- Insurance products (other than mortgage protection, which may be referred)
- Shares, bonds, or other investment securities
For investment, insurance, or other financial advice needs, we recommend you consult an appropriately authorised financial adviser.
Privacy and Data
We handle your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 (New Zealand). See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with the advice or service you have received, please see our Complaints Process for how to raise a concern and escalate to our external dispute resolution provider.
